Hello and welcome to my website!
My name is Lindsay Tanney and I’m a 23-year-old broadcast journalist and comedian.
I am currently working as a Freelance Production Assistant at Cheddar News in Manhattan. I’ve been producing minute-long daily news updates, along with writing anchor readers, teases, assisting with reporter packages, researching upcoming guests, and more.
Last summer I graduated with my masters in video/broadcast journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. I also received my bachelors degree there, with a major in journalism and minors in psychology and radio/television/film.
I started practicing improvisation at The Second City in Chicago in January 2021. I had the chance to be a part of an independent improv group called You Seem Like, formed from a Conservatory group class. Our group practiced weekly and performed at local Chicago theaters like The Newport Theater, Bughouse Theater and The Annoyance. I also practiced stand-up comedy at The Second City and have performed in several shows and open-mic nights.
I moved back home to New York in December 2022 to pursue a career in both journalism and comedy. While I am freelancing at Cheddar, I am always looking for new ways to express my journalistic creativity. I am also looking for some new outlets to practice improv and stand-up while I wait for The Second City New York to open up in the coming months.
Please feel free to interact with my page and view some of my exciting video projects. Also, please contact me if you’d like to connect, or want to discuss potential opportunities in journalism and comedy/entertainment.
In terms of goals, they’re pretty lofty, but I hope someday to host my own version of a late-night talk show!
If you’re still reading this, thanks! I hope you enjoy my page! :)
